Big weekend for humble hero Bruce

FAMILY and community surrounded Bruce Hargreaves when he received Loddon Shire’s Wedderburn Ward Citizen of the Year award on Monday.

The presentation capped off a busy weekend for Bruce. As president of the town’s harness racing club, he had overseen the successful cup meeting the previous day.

Bruce was recognised for his contributions over many decades and praised by ward councillor Gavan Holt as one of the town’s heroes.

“Bruce is a humble, loyal, and dedicated individual whose quiet leadership and tireless efforts have left a lasting impact on the Wedderburn community. His decades of service exemplify the spirit of volunteerism and make him a truly deserving recipient for this award,” Cr Holt said.
