Bears Lagoon Serpentine has take a grip on third spot with 13-goal win over Bridgewater at Janiember Park in Loddon Valley football today.

The win has Serp in the box seat for a double chance in the finals.

Slim hopes of Inglewood making the final five were dashed when Maiden Gully held them scoreless in the first term before coming back in windy conditions to fall one point short.

The win for Maiden Gully although its fourth of the season officially registers as the Eagles first after being stripped of 12 premiership points before the season started for not fielding a junior side for a third season.
