LEAD Loddon Mallee leadership program participants wrapped up their year of growing skills and confidence with a retreat in Inglewood.
It was the fifth retreat of the program before last Friday'sgraduation by this year’s cohort.
The group of 21 has included Judith Wakeham, Kerry Hanrahan and Suzi Taig, of Dingee, Yarrawalla’s Nick Marlow and Bridgewater’s Tim Birthisel.
The weekend activities saw the group taken on a tour of the Laucke Flour Mill in Bridgewater by operations manager Roger Laubsch, a former participant in the program.
They had presentations from former participant and LEAD Loddon Murray board chair Colleen Condliffe and Cr Dan Straub, who stepped down last week after two years as Loddon Mayor.
Program director Jude Hannah said there had been a strong involvement from the Loddon Shire in the program again this year.
“This is the 25th year of the leadership program that brings people from across 11 municipalities from Swan Hill in the north to Macedon Ranges in the south to experience the program,” Jude said.
During the weekend retreat, this year’s course participants also visited the Bridgewater railway station community hub and the Bridgewater Hotel.
Jude said time was also spent at the Inglewood Golf Club where they reflected on their learning over the year and how it could be applied in local communities.
“The program is designed to help accelerate the development of participants as a leader and provide them with a network of supporters and friends,” Jude said.
Tomorrow night’s graduation will be held in Bendigo.
