BIO GRO has lodged a development licence application with the Environmental Protection Authority to more than double capacity at its Newbridge solid waste composting facility.
The EPA has not advertised the application locally, instead using media in other areas.
The application proposes to increase operations from 60,000 to 150,000 tonnes a year.
“A combination of different techniques and technologies is used to compost feedstock including open windrow and in-vessel aerated composting,” according to application.
