DONATIONS had been made to many worthy causes in the past year by Boort Amity, president Maree Stringer told members at last week’s handover dinner.

Maree, who has been re-elected to lead the women’s service club, said the donations had included $3200 for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal, Very Special Kids, Royal Flying Doctor Service and Boort District School.

Donations had also been made to Boort Pre School and the Cancer Council.

“Some of the many things that Amity has been busy with are assisting at the gate for the trotting club, the Christmas light competition, coolroom and porta-loo hire, Amity auction, meals on wheels ... Anzac Day and helping the RSL and the Australia Day ceremony as well as many more,” Maree said.

“We recently held a very successful community connections dinner at the Railway hotel with 32 attendees.
