Latest statistics from Ambulance Victoria show it took more than 26 minutes for an ambulance to arrive in the first quarter of 2025-2026.

The wait time a year earlier was 23 minutes and 10 seconds.

Just over a quarter of the 172 calls in July, August and September had a response time under 15 minutes.

Demand for ambulances in Loddon communities increased by three calls for the quarter.

The biggest improvement in the Loddon Mallee Region was Gisborne where paramedics attended 69.8 per cent of Code 1 patients within 15 minutes – up from 62.6 per cent three months ago – the second biggest improvement in the state. Compared with three months ago, the average Code 1 response time decreased by one minute and 35 seconds.

Ambulance Victoria said its crews responded to 64.1 per cent of Code 1 cases within the state-wide target of 15 minutes for the quarter.
