Allen lays wreath with silent appreciation
ALLEN Downing set the tone for the sombre and silent laying of wreaths at Bridgewater’s Remembrance Day ceremony.

The ex-National Serviceman was followed in placing floral tributes to those who served and paid the supreme sacrifice in World War One and later conflicts by community representatives and school students. Inglewood and Bridgewater RSL sub-branch committee member Glenn Catto led the service. that concluded with school students singing the National Anthem.
Tuesday’s service in Boort was well attended with sub-branch president Paul Haw and Glenn Hudson leading the commemoration and 100-year-old Alan Streader playing the Last Post.
East Loddon Historical Society organised a service at Mitiamo where Janet Ryan spoke on her grandfather, local soldier George Pentreath.
