LODDON Shire Council rates are due this month.
Council said people paying rates in a single payment had until February 15 to make payment.
“If you pay your rates by quarterly instalments, the next rates instalment is due on February 28,” council said. “If you think you may not be able to pay by the due date and you believe you will have difficulties paying either the third instalment or in full, please contact council’s rates office.
“Council has options available to assist those facing genuine financial hardship and would be happy to discuss these with you in a confidential manner.”
Council rates across Victoria increased 3.5 per cent last year. This year’s rate rise cap has been set by the State Government at 2.75 per cent.
