Democracy sellout! Sizzling sales of morning sausages

THE barbecue was packed away before lunchtime at Inglewood Primary School on Saturday.
The Democracy Sausages had sold out in less than three hours as hundreds of people voted early and grabbed a snack to support the school’s parents’ association.
The early rush had student Jaxon Neale pedalling from the polling booth to the IGA supermarket for more bread.
When Damien Bennetto purchased one of the last sausages, there were special instructions. No onion thanks, his pet black labrador Millie could not have the chopped up bulb,
Millie had been waiting patiently, tied to the school fence near the official polling booth sign, while Damien voted inside.
The two shared the sausage before heading home.
“We sold 120 sausage before 11 o’clock,” said parent Lani Rose. “There were even a couple of onion sandwiches at the end.”
