CONDITIONS were bleak at Macorna last Saturday, with a strong and biting wind blowing down the length of the unprotected netball courts and making ball handling difficult.
Inglewood won the match 29-13, with the Tigers taking until the last quarter to reach double figures. They managed just one goal in the second quarter to the Woodies’ 10 when pushing into the wind.
The Woodies could only score four goals themselves in the final term, matching Macorna’s slim output, but the win was enough to keep the team in fifth position on the ladder, a game and a half ahead of Pyramid Hill.
Shooting was difficult, with tall goal shooter Aleisha Shay not her usual prolific self in the conditions, and wing attack Anika Bysouth and wing defence Kathleen Hocking were the best players for the winners.
Mid-court players Jem Jobling and Abbey McGowan were best for Macorna.
