Study at the University of Melbourne is firmly in her sights after the release of VCE results last Thursday that saw Lillian achieve an ATAR of 92.8.

And Lillian also celebrated with family and fellow students her study score of 41 in physics.

Lillian said she had a “leaning towards physics” during university study.

This year she had also studied chemistry and biology while the finals units in mathematics methods and equine studies were completed last year.

“Chemistry was a bit different to what I had been expecting,” she said.

Lillian said she had gone into VCE examinations focusing on what she knew about subjects and during the VCE years “learnt how to push myself”.

“And also take responsibility for my own learning,” she said.

College principal Danny Forrest said: “Lillian is a great example of what evolves from hard work and giving your last year of secondary college a red hot go.

“Lillian has a bright future and we wish her and the rest of the Year 12 cohort all the best of luck as they start their next chapter,” Mr Forrest said.

Lillian was recognised as Wedderburn’s dux at last Thursday’s speech night where among those to congratulate her was mother Carolyn, president of the college council.

More than 15,300 students across Victoria have received at least one study score of 40 or higher. A record 65,586 students have graduated with their VCE this year
