Webster claims Mallee

Anne Webster tonight claimed victory in Mallee but is likely to spend her second term in Parliament in opposition.

Ms Webster spoke with the Loddon Herald shortly before our live Mallee Votes analysis of the election that started at 8.15pm.

On AEC figures at 9.40, Dr Webster has a primary vote of 48.98 per cent with Labor's Carole Hart on 15.45 per cent

United Australia Party's Stuart King has 10.76 per cent of the vote and independent Sophie Baldwin 10.45 per cent.

The One Nation "ghost candidate", Rebecca Atkinson who reportedly lives in Queensland, is polling 6.54 per cent.

On a two-party preferred, Dr Webster currently has an increased majority when other seats in Victoria have fallen to Labor or independents with Labor expected to form the new government.

Dr Webster said health, infrastructure and connectivity would be key issues in her second term while also expressing fears for the future of the agrilcultural workforce and water from the Murray Darling Basin Plan.
