Watch on new care plans
LODDON communities are today eagerly awaiting a reported State Government policy announcement on child care and kindergarten.
The Government is expected to commit to establishing up to child care centres in existing child care deserts.
Loddon communities are in one of those deserts and the Wedderburn community has been campaigning for 13 months to have the issue resolved.
State Education Minister James Merlino in Wedderburn last month said child care was a federal responsibility but he would advocate for action in Loddon.
Ripon MP Louise Staley said if a Coalition Government was elected in November it would find money in the $12.9 million Wedderburn College upgrade budget to include a child care centre but Mr Merlino said every dollar was needed for the building upgrade.
