Three off to Parliament

THREE Loddon students are part of the North Central LLEN team for Victoria’s Youth Parliament this year.

They are Zen Joyner (Inglewood), Mia Braun (Pyramid Hill) and Jake Murphy (Wedderburn). Also in the region’s team are Noah Slater (Donald), Tyler Riley and Lillian Pritchard (Charlton).

The team held its first meeting last week to discuss drafting a Bill, be trained in Parliamentary protocol and presenting the Bill to the rest of young cohort that forms the Youth Parliament. Members are discussing issues that of local and state importance, analysing both bills released by the State government and issues discussed with others from the community.

Youth Parliament, an initiative of the YMCA, will meet in Melbourne in the mid-year school break.
