Tennis cancelled

Loddon Valley Tennis Association has cancelled this Saturday's round of matches.

The association this afternoon also said the round scheduled for Saturday January 23 had been cancelled.

The cancellations are as a safety precaution with rising COVID-19 case numbers across the region.

At this stage, Marong Tennis Association matches that resume on Saturday will continue as are Upper Loddon cricket games.

In Bendigo bowls, lower divisions start from this Saturday.

In advice to clubs, the Bendigo region has said:

Ensure that all your members are aware of the changes to the COVID rules for positive cases. Players are not to be selected under the following circumstance 1. Any player who becomes COVID positive or is a close contact of anyone who is COVID positive must isolate until they receive a negative test. 2. Players cannot be selected at all if they are waiting on a PCR test result. 3 If positive, you must isolate yourself for seven days.

At the moment Pennant and State events will continue. Clubs may have to forfeit a team or teams if they have high numbers of players unavailable due to COVID or other personal reasons. Teams are to be selected from the highest to the lowest divisions.
