Teams are hungry

MITCHELL Park Pyramid Hill was the venue for the second community football and netball day, and supporters of both codes, hungry for the resumption of weekend sport, were treated to non-stop action.

Players and fans from 10 clubs, incorporating six surrounding leagues were able to again witness their players fine tune their game plan for the season-proper which kicks off this weekend.

Among the clubs was Boort with host club Pyramid Hill playing the final of game of the day.

Again, entry to witness the action was courtesy of a gold coin, with proceeds going to the local fire brigade, and again umpires from the Loddon Valley and the Golden Rivers Football Netball Leagues were in charge on the ground.Loddon Valley umpires swapped their traditional olive shirts to a bright red on the day.

With summer conditions lingering for one last week, football players were fully extended in the three 25-minute playing terms.
