Search goes on to fill jobs

FROM grader drivers to managers, Loddon Shire Council is looking outside the shire to fill job vacancies.

Council has advertised dozens of jobs since January, joining many local businesses in the hunt for staff.

Among the positions, council is still on the hunt for is a childcare project officer first advertised last year.

Council wants to engage a person for 12 months to advocate and advance childcare options for local communities.

A council spokesperson said: “In relation to the childcare project officer position, we are currently considering our options going forward as we have been unable to fill this position to allow progression of the project.”

The tourism and marketing co-ordinator position was also advertised outside the shire earlier this year with Shelby Hutchinson now appointed to the role.

Latest employment openings advertised by council in other areas have included a grader operator, information technology manager and casual early childhood positions.

Loddon Shire is also working through the appointment of a new director corporate.

Previous director Sharon Morrison concluded her contract at the end of February.
