Quick work at BDH

EMERGENCY services and staff at Boort District Health sprung into action when a burst pipe sent water flowing through corridors at the main hospital entrance.

Nurse unit manager Mubarak Meera Sahib said water seeped from the main hospital entrance into adjacent areas about 10.30pm.

“Fortunately, no resident or patient was impacted,” he said of the January 18 pipe burst,” he said.

“An overnight cleanup led by the Boort District Health response team and involving the night staff and off-duty staff who live close by, and response services assured that services were operational by the next morning.”

Mubarak said a plumber was on site by 8am the next day to fix the problem. and all services were operational again that morning. He praised the efforts of staff and emergency services for their quick action.
