Pub re-opening close

RENOVATIONS are underway at Dingee’s Railway Hotel as new community owners plan a grand re-opening within six weeks.

The local and Bendigo investor consortium is this week taking delivery of new beer dispensing equipment.

Spokesman Matt Bowles said new local leaseholders were currently progressing the liquor licence applications.

“We’re aiming to be open again in late August or early September,” he said.

Contracts for the hotel’s sale were signed in late May and the consortium has been preparing the historic hotel for its re-opening after previous owners closed the doors during COVID lockdowns late last year.

As reported in the Loddon Herald in May, Matt assembled a consortium after he was “approached by a few locals after the hotel closed and we have drawn together a group of people to buy the hotel and lease it out to two local people.

“We’ve some refurbishment to do in the next couple of months including a new beer system and kitchen updates ahead of a planned re-opening,” he said when announcing the sale."
