Power off twice

PARTS of Inglewood’s Brooke Street were hit with power blackouts twice over the Queen’s Birthday weekend.

Businesses were disrupted by the outages with Sunday’s loss of supply in the busy lunch period for cafes.

“It came at a busy time,” said Cafe 3517’s Dave Smyth who received notification of the outage about about 12.25pm.

The blackout also disrupted eftpos connection at Inglewood IGA, Sunday’s central Victorian disruption followed another blackout on Saturday.

Powercor said it was investigating “outages of around 20 minutes occurred on both Saturday and Sunday, impacting just over 6000 customers each time. Saturday’s outage occurred just after 6am, while the same customers were impacted on Sunday at 12.20pm.”
