Pair hit first 50s
Upper Loddon junior cricket resumed after the Christmas break on Saturday with just the
one game between Arnold and Wedderburn being played.
The other scheduled game between Boort-Yando and Bridgewater unfortunately could not be played due to both sides not having enough numbers. The points will be shared in this game.
Wedderburn travelled to Arnold and sent the home side in, a move that didn’t pay
dividends.
Missing a couple of their older players, the young Wedderburn team chased leather all
day and next week will be chasing a target of 270.
Gabe Nevins and Jaspa Wendels continued on with their good two day game form with both
players retiring to the shed with fifties beside their names. There was little respite however for the Wedderburn players as Flynn Lock and Campbell Hancock both registered their maiden 50s in junior cricket.
Hancock in particular was pretty aggressive hitting ten boundaries in his innings.
Although the Wedderburn bowlers went wicketless , Tyson Blair and Nash Turner tried hard
and were the pick of the bowlers.
