Paddock fire risk still high
LODDON farmers have been urged to take care using machinery in paddocks after a stubble fire last week.
The warning came from Boort Fire Brigade captain Kelvin Mayberry after CFA units from Boort and Yando battled the 15-hectare fire.
Mr Mayberry said it was believed the fire started from a machinery spark and CFA volunteers took about an hour to control the fire. Barraport brigade was also called but the crew was not needed.
