New tanker closer

INGLEWOOD Fire Brigade is closer to receiving a new 4000-litre dual-cab tanker.

The brigade was first informed it was on the list for one of the 20 new tankers last July.

And today, the State Government said workers were putting the final touches on the first of a brand-new fleet of Country Fire Authority heavy tankers.

Inglewood captain Andrew Smith said that when the new tanker arrived, it would replace the existing 3000-litre tanker.

The first tankers will begin being delivered to brigades for commissioning and training as soon as next month and are all expected to be on the road by mid 202, according to the Government.
