Melanie's country buy
FOUR years ago, Melbourne artist Melanie Young was travelling through country Victoria and making a sentimental connection to old gold mining towns.
It was the Tiny Towns Art Trail weekend and Melanie felt right at home seeing other artists displaying their creations.
Buying a home in Melbourne was out of the question.
“Then it occurred to me, I could buy something in the country,” Melanie said.
She wasted no time and arrived in Tarnagulla way ahead of other Melbourne people who have looked to country Victoria since the pandemic gripped and restricted lifestyle options and has also seen Loddon property prices increase 62.5 per cent in the past year.
“Melbourne was too expensive to live in and I wanted to have a better life so I moved to country Victoria four years ago,” she said.
