Market back Monday

SHEEP markets return to the region next week after a fortnight off for public holidays.

Inglewood-based stock agent James Nevins said recent New South Wales markets had been stronger and could be a guide to the offering at Bendigo on Monday.

“At the moment we don’t know whether it will be stronger or the same. It’s a real unknown,” he said. Mr Nevins said there continued to be an over supply of “over the hook” stock and the impact of recent and forecast rain on Loddon farmers’ cropping schedules could also influence the market offering.

Less lambs and another drop in buying saw cheaper prices at the last Bendigo Market on April 11 with all weights and grades up to $20/head cheaper.
