Local runners do well

Updated: Oct 20, 2021

VINCENT Kai trained at Inglewood by Grant Innes is set to run in Race 7 at Maryborough today.

Although awkwardly drawn, Vincent has been very consistent in his last five starts, with two thirds and a fourth and with a little luck should be in the finish again.

Glengarriff, a four-year-old trotter owned in Wedderburn by Gavan Holt and trained at Moonlight Flats by Jo Franklin, has been in top form recently with two wins and two seconds from his last four starts.

Glengarriff is racing at Ballarat tomorrow night in Race 6 No 9 at 8.30pm.

St Arnaud trainer Denis McIntyre is enjoying a great run of success with his small stable.

His team has had three wins and a second recently.

Dot the Eye and Captain Pins have both won at Maryborough recently and Puzzle Piece ran second and Captain Pins won at Bendigo last Friday night.

Harness Racing will be held at Wedderburn on September 12, but unfortunately no spectators are allowed at this stage.

I guess the Scotchman’s Hill might have a few people doing exercise on that day and sneaking a look at the horses in action at Donaldson Park.

The Loddon Herald welcomes Trevor as an occasional sports columnist on harness happenings across the Loddon. His knowledge and experience in the industry is much recognised and appreciated. Our readers look forward to following the fortunes of local harness racing drivers and owners.
