LAST weekend’s TAB Summer of Glory meetings at Melton on Friday and Saturday nights provided some wonderful results.

Friday night saw Majestuoso, driven by Kate Gath take out the Final of the $300k Great Southern Star.

An event, where horses compete in heats early in the night and then run in the final, some two hours after the Heats.

The A.G. Hunter Cup was taken out by Sydney Pacer and former winner of the Cup, King of Swing driven by Luke McCarthy. King of Swing beat Spirit of St Louis and Amazing Dream.

Two local horses will compete at Bendigo tonight.

Murtagh Kai, trained by Grant Innes at Inglewood is in Race 9 No 10 and Gobsmacked trained at Marong by Shaun McNaulty is in Race 7 No 9.

Murtagh Kai is a half- brother to Grant’s consistent trotter Vincent Kai.

Racing this week is at Melton on Saturday night where Majestuoso will be competing in the Knight istol Trotters Cup and the Sunday twilight meeting will see Ararat conduct its cup meeting.
