Keep road use right
LODDON police are in the final week of Operation Tightness, targeting speed on rural roads and distraction offences.
Acting Sergeant Heath Baker said the police across the Goldfields service area, including Loddon, were continuing to patrol local roads in the month-long blitz.
He said that while drivers “tend to be sticking the speed limit and driving safely” there had been a number of fines issued.
Acting Sgt Baker said rural roads were a high risk area for accidents.
And he said breath-testing stations had detected three alleged drink-drivers across the Goldfields.
