James carves regular spot

JAMES Vander-Wetering is one Upper Loddon Cricket Association player who has stepped up in the senior competition this year.

He has seven wickets to his scoresheet as a bowler and in the field for Wedderburn Band, including a hat-trick against Kingower before Christmas where the day’s figures were 3-15.

A right-arm bowler, James has come through the club’s juniors. James said he had jumped at the chance to bowl again this season.

“I was wicketkeeper for our juniors last season,” he said.

James believes he has been improving his pace and swing in the 2021-2022 season and “if we can get a full team, we’ll do okay in finals,” he said.
