YOUNGSTERS are padding up for the Loddon’s first-ever Cricket Blast program that starts next Thursday.
Pitched at children aged five to 10, the eight-week program at Bridgewater will aim to help the youngsters learn the basic skills of cricket in a fun and friendly environment.
Local premiership team member Harry McKinley will lead the Loddon’s participation in the national cricket engagement program.
Cricket Blast is designed to be easy to run by club volunteers with support from the Victorian Cricket Association.
Among local youngsters look forward to Cricket Blast are Nate Harrison, Van Harrison, Jed Harrison and Matilda O’Sullivan were quick to show their enthusiasm for the program’s start at the town’s oval.
