Hunters wait on tags
PROFESSIONAL shooters harvesting kangaroos across the Loddon are waiting for their next batch of quota tags to be issued.
Campaspe Meat’s Loc Rivett said shooters had just enough tags to use in the next fortnight.
“There’s no problem in the (lower Wimmera) zone to use up the quota,” said Mr Rivett whose company had been behind a bid to use the former Inglewood abattoirs to process kangaroos for pet meat.
That application to Loddon Shire faltered on a planning technicality.
Kangaroos shot in the Loddon are being taken to Seymour for processing.
