Hay Martha! Labor candidate named
A FORMER advisor to Premier Daniel Andrews will be Labor’s candidate for Ripon in next November’s State election.
Her pre-selection was announced on Monday in an ALP process that has seen multiple former ministers dumped.
Martha currently lives at Yandoit, near Castlemaine.
A veteran of Labor campaigning, she worked in the party’s head office during the 2014 election and later as an advisor to Premier Andrews for more than three years,
She is currently a principal adviser on the State Government’s $5.3 billion Big Housing Build.
Ripon is held by Liberal frontbencher Louise Staley by 0.2 per cent. The redistribution has notionally made Ripon a Labor seat with a 2.8 per cent margin.
