LODDON’S share in the $500 million Victorian mining industry could jump in coming years.
That’s the hope of Minerals Council of Australia Victorian executive director James Sorahan after the release of a new economic contribution study.
“Loddon Shire stands to benefit in coming years as explorers smash exploration spending records looking for the next big find and also with the exploration activity taking place in the region,” he said.
“Loddon will share in more of the $500 million spent annually by Victoria’s mines in the future and we hope to see growing employment of locals in the sector as exploration grows and new mines are built in coming years.”
Mr Sorahan said the economic survey highlighted the benefits a mining operations to regional economies.
