Fire warning and a new truck
COUNTRY Fire Authority volunteers want Loddon residents to remain vigilant with the fire risk still high in the region.
Inglewood brigade captain Andrew Smith said lightning from storms over the past three weeks had started multiple fires.
“There was a lot of growth around the district over winter and now there is heavy stubble in many paddocks,” he said.
“This has been one of the busiest periods we have experienced for a few years.”
Mr Smith’s summer fire alert call comes as Inglewood brigade was officially allocated one of 20 new heavy-duty dual-cab tankers
