OWNERS of a Boort cafe resumed trading last week.
Godfrey and Bear closed its doors in October with owners Lindee Frost and Dee Slatter saying they would not risk fines for not being “police” in enforcing the vaccination mandate”.
“We hope that one day we will be open again where we can unconditionally serve and employ all people regardless of their personal health choices.” Dee said in October
“We’re not anti-vaccination but we are against this mandate, it’s ruining businesses, it’s ruining communities.”
Lindee said this week a change in COVID restrictions had assisted in the decision to re-open.
“We’re still not going to ask for people’s vaccination status,” she said.
The cafe is only providing take-away.
And a new cafe in Inglewood, Cafe 3517 in the historic Deeble building started trading on Monday.
