Cafe calls time

JUSTINE Smith will close the doors of her Tarnagulla Country Cafe for the final time at the weekend.

She said the slow return of visitor numbers to the town since COVID restrictions were eased had contributed to her decision to cease trading.

“There’s just not enough people coming through town,” she said.

“I had hoped numbers would pick up and for a short time, there was a steady number of visitors but then visitors dropped really badly again.”

“For a while I held off making this decision but in the end I had to think what was best for me and the business.
