Branson's success

Updated: Oct 20, 2021

STEVE Branson has his focus on developing a stronger and fitter Courts Bliss.

The eight-year-old mare has become something of a Loddon harness racing sensation with multiple wins in recent months.

And Steve, who moved from Adelaide last year and is now based at Korong Vale, says better racing is still ahead for Courts Bliss who already has career earnings of more than $32,000.

“He’s been taught to get to the front ... when he does, there’s confidence,” Steve said after putting Courts Bliss through training paces on Saturday morning at Rocket Raceway, Jack Hargreaves’ old training track that has found new life.

Courts Bliss has won two of his last four starts, finished second in another over distances between 1710 and 1790 metres while coming fourth in the shorter 1609 metres at Geelong last week. The local trainer is leasing Courts Bliss from Glenn Teesdale.
