Blue sapphire celebrations

WEDDERBURN’S Faye and Edwin Holt will celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary next Wednesday.

The nonagenarians were married at St Arnaud Uniting Church on March 31, 1956, and have live in Wedderburn since then.

Over the decades, Faye and Edwin have been actively involved in the Wedderburn community and are particularly well known in bowling circles where both have served the local club in leadership positions.

Faye was the last president of the ladies’ section before men’s and women’s bowls were unified. Their participation in club activities continue and members recently celebated Edwin’s 90th birthday.

Faye was also active in rural affairs and served as a board member on the Victorian Catchment and Land Protection Council. In 1996 Faye was the regional finalist in the ABC Rural Woman of the Year competition recognising contributions to country communities.

Edwin and Faye have three children, 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Congratulations on your Blue Sapphire wedding anniversary!
