Big cup on Sunday
WEDDERBURN Pacing Cup will be held at Donaldson Park on Sunday.
With gates opening from midday, it will be the first meeting with a crowd since the 2021 cup meeting a year ago.
Fashions on the Fields returns with five sections.
The Loddon Herald's harness racing writer Trevor Ralph says in this week's edition that "all roads lead to Wedderburn this Sunday for the Loddon Shire Wedderburn Pacing Cup of $14,500 and the Insurance House Wedderburn Trotters Cup of $14,500.
The Trotters Cup will see a clash of stablemates, Travel Bug, last year’s Trotting Cup winner and Chissy, both trained by Jason McNulty at St Arnaud.
Locally owned Glengarriff will start in the trotters handicap earlier in the day.
A $10 membership at the gate gives patrons a chance to go in a draw for cash and betting vouchers plus plenty of giveaways."
It will be the final meeting at Wedderburn before the multi-million redevelopment of Donaldson Park.
The club is expected to confirm that meetings over the next year will be at Maryborough.
THE LODDON HERALD WILL AGAIN BE COVERING ONE OF THE REGION'S MAJOR SPORTING EVENTS OF THE YEAR.
