Betty new life governor
BETTY Higgs was made a life governor of Inglewood and Districts Health Service at the annual general meeting, recognising her voluntary contributions over almost two decades.
Mrs Higgs, 92, has been a regular visitor to residents and assisted with meals.
“My children were born here, my husband was, too,” she said. “And son Max was doctor at the hospital for 30 years.”
Mrs Higgs became involved with friend Jean Douglass in 2006 and has fond memories running a staff canteen and making rolls.
COVID restrictions over the past year have meant Mrs Higgs has been unable to visit residents. “I’ve missed it and always wonder how they are going.”
A special presentation will be made to Mrs Higgs when restrictions allow.
