Band's tough gig

THE enigmatic Wedderburn Band faces a tough gig in tomorrow's Upper Loddon Cricket Association match.

A brilliant opening bowling attached of Will Holt and Adam Postle was not enough last week to cause an upset of newly-installed flag favourite Kingower.

Wedderburn's bats faltered and faltered badly. They may have been without a couple of handy players but there was hardly a whimper as Kingower swung into action and had Wedderburn out with overs to spare.

Tomorrow they face Boort-Yando who claimed the scalp of Arnold. The Redbacks fell to a third loss in four rounds and luckily have the bye this week.

Boort has shown glimpses of form and potential this season so tomorrow's encounter will be interesting indeed.

In the other match, Bridgewater is at home to Kingower as the two meet for a third time this season.

Bridgey has been sticking with its team throughout the season and are showing good development.

Provided Kingower does not let opening bats Tom McKinley and Murphy stay around too long, they should take the points.
