Back in the street
TRADITIONAL street parties and community gatherings are preparing to bounce back for Christmas 2021.
The COVID disruptions of last Christmas have strengthened a “return to normal” attitude.
In Boort, the town’s Christmas party will return to the main street after being relocated to Little Lake Boort last December.
One of the new organising committee members, Maree Stringer, said: “Our traditions are back this year for the street party with shops opening late, trade tables and a mini-farmers’ market, music, raffles and the arrival of Santa Claus all creating a new-found sense of community connection. The organising team is wonderful with a number of the event stalwarts being helped by newer members,” she said.
While Boort’s street party is on December 17, Loddon residents can begin the festive partying from this week.
