Back from break

THE prowling Panthers face an undefeated Mitiamo in a round of key matches with the resumption of Loddon Valley football on Saturday.

Marong has decimated the defence of Bridgewater and Maiden Gully in the opening rounds.

Mitiamo was similarly on fire against Bears Lagoon Serpentine but was pushed by Newbridge before the Easter break.

And while the Superoos have not lost a game in almost three years, coming up against the might of Panthers’ Grenfell and Robins plus the depth Marong has accumulated in both seniors and reserves, Saturday is looming as a real test.

The result could well be determined by who has the most players available.

At Bridgewater, cross-river rivals Inglewood will be aiming for a third straight win and honours in the ANZAC weekend match to honour a legend of both clubs, Eddie Harrison.
