Arts trail postponed
Updated: Oct 20, 2021
THE Loddon’s first art trail weekend showcasing the region’s creative residents has been postponed.
The decision was made on Monday after discussions between Loddon Shire Council and participating artists.
Almost 50 artists were to have be featured across more than a dozen locations in Inglewood, Bridgewater, Wedderburn, Tarnagulla, Eastville and Murphy’s Creek.
The Loddon Herald has been told some venue hosts were concerned for public health and the uncertainty of COVID restrictions still in place.
Council said in a statement: “The Loddon Valley Arts Trail has been postponed, with new dates in 2022 still to be decided.
“If you are planning on visiting the Loddon Valley please ensure you stay COVID-safe and respect the local businesses by wearing a mask, sanitising and checking in at venues using the Services Victoria app.”
However, several of the artists originally on the inaugural Loddon Arts Trail bill have decided they will still be open with special exhibitions and activities on October 23 and 24.
