AN EXCITING NEW ERA FOR LOCAL NEWS
Updated: Jan 25, 2021
The Loddon Herald – a free weekly newspaper for local communities – is preparing to launch with its first edition planned for Thursday 28 January.
The Herald will be your newspaper with stories every week on the local news, events, activities and people that are the communities of Loddon. We will herald achievements and advancement of people and businesses within the communities and, we hope, help build pride in today and confidence for the future as that message is taken across the Loddon Shire and into neighbouring communities.
A good newspaper reports on what is happening. You can be part of sharing and spreading the news by submitting articles on what’s happening in your organisation to the Loddon Herald that will have an initial print run of 2000 copies every Thursday.
And being a free local newspaper, advertising will support and sustain publication of The Loddon Herald – your local newspaper – every week. Advertising bookings for the first edition will close on Friday 22 January.
Why a newspaper now? Initial findings released last month from a Country Press Australia national survey showed that more than 70 per cent of people like to receive their news in a newspaper – our communities including Bridgewater, Inglewood, Wedderburn, Tarnagulla, Newbridge, Serpentine and Boort deserve a local newspaper committed to their districts.
The Loddon Herald will bring a traditional, trusted approach to newspapers matched with contemporary media experience and knowledge – more than 40 years’ experience in the media and award-winning newspapers – together with a local community connection over more than a quarter of a century. And we’re independent.
There is genuine excitement and activity building momentum and optimism for the future in local communities. The Loddon Herald will be here reporting on the amazing journey.
We look forward to catching up with you very soon. In the meantime, do feel free to get in touch to discuss advertising and editorial opportunities.
