Ahead when it matters
ST ARNAUD got away to the perfect start in their game against the Boort Magpies when they were able to get on the board early with two quick goals in the first term.
The Magpies could not break through into their attacking zone with limited opportunities and when they did, they were off target bringing up minor scores.
The Saints with Kurt Torney and Jack Tillig setting the pace was again able to break through the Boort backline to post two goals nearing the end of the first quarter. At siren time the Saints had opened up a handy 27-point lead.
Boort regrouped and started the second term in a positive manner posting their first goal of the game much to the delight of their loyal supporters. From the restart the Saints sent the ball forward where Jacob Tillig registered his first for the day and restored the Saints lead.
