Active network hopes

LODDON’S sole Active Farmers’ program co-ordinator Claire Harrison is hoping a new scholarship program for the national network will see more people across the region connecting for physical and emotional fitness.

Claire, who runs the Active Farmers program based at Bridgewater, said the establishment of more programs in Loddon communities would further lift local fitness and engagement.

Active Farmers with partners FIT College and Hutcheon and Pearce have offered six $7000 scholarships to put more trainers into rural areas.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to expand our Loddon network that brings farming communities together,” Claire said.

“The scholarships will assist with training courses, equipment, uniform and local community launches.”

“I’m keen to encourage people to apply through Active Farmers and start a second program in a Loddon community.”
