$20m tunnel tip
CATALYST Metals could construct a $20 million tunnel at Mitiamo to continue gold exploration hundreds of metres below ground at the Boyd’s Dam project.
CEO John McKinstry said a final decision would be made within months, describing the company’s quarterly report to the Australian Stock Exchange as significant.
Mr McKinistry said a tunnel would allow exploration to go “underground and be more active all year round”.
“We are pretty certain we have something viable to mine. This is a significant step forward,” he said.
Crews are currently using diamond, reverse circulation and air core drilling rigs at the site. Overseeing operations for the past four years has been field supervisor Deeanne Gould (pictured). Crews are working up to two 12-hour shifts a day on the rigs.
And Catalyst’s latest report also includes confirmation of encouraging results at a new exploration site near Boort.
